Why can’t I auto update focus booster?
Unfortunately the way focus booster is currently built you need to uninstall (or trash) focus booster before installing any updates. Please see below for details on how to uninstall on Windows and Mac.
How do I uninstall focus booster?
To remove focus booster on Windows:
- Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
- Open the Add or Remove Programs panel.
- Select the focus booster application.
- Click the Change/Remove button.
Mac OS X
To remove a focus booster on Mac OS X, drag the focus booster.app file, in your Applications folder to the Trash.

Is focus booster safe?

Where do I turn off the ticking?
Please use the menu icon on the right hand side of the app. From there you can adjust the ticking in sessions and breaks.
How do I adjust session and break lengths?
Please use the menu icon on the right hand side of the app. From there you can adjust the session length from 2 - 90 minutes and the break length from 1 - 30 minutes. You can also adjust sessions to auto-start in this menu.
Can I adjust the alerts at the end of a session?
Using the menu icon on the right hand side of the app you can adjust the alarm and icon bounce.
Why can’t I pause focus booster?
Please read more about the pomodoro technique for a more in-depth answer to this question but in short the idea behind the technique is to remove all distractions so you can focus on work for an entire focus booster session. Phone calls, emails, toilet breaks, social media and other interruptions should be dealt with in your break or a dedicated focus booster session throughout the day.
